Founded on a Simple Belief
CQ-TEC was established in 2001 with a conviction that TVET education in Malaysia could do more than produce technically competent workers. It could produce people — professionals who communicate well, work with integrity, and grow with their organisations.

With over two decades at the helm of CQ-TEC, Kalaichelvi has shaped the college's unique approach: a conviction that emotional intelligence and professional character are not soft extras — they are the core product.
Her philosophy drives every hiring decision, every curriculum update, and every student interaction at CQ-TEC. Under her leadership, the college has grown from a single-programme institution to a four-track TVET provider with a dual diploma partnership.

CQ-TEC aligns its institutional mission with three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — not as a policy statement, but as a practical commitment reflected in how we teach, who we support, and where we direct our graduates.
Malaysia's TVET sector trains the skilled workforce behind every hospital, building, and technology company in the country — yet places in quality, accredited programmes remain limited. The gap between qualified workers and what employers actually need widens every year, leaving capable young Malaysians underemployed and undervalued.
Skilled trades and technical fields in Malaysia remain significantly male-dominated. When women are excluded from TVET pathways, half the workforce is shut out of high-growth sectors — and entire families stay in lower income brackets. Equal access to skills education is one of the most direct routes out of poverty.
Malaysia's economic growth depends on a skilled technical workforce, yet youth unemployment consistently traces back to a mismatch between what graduates can do and what employers need. Certificates without real workplace readiness do not create economic value — for students or for the country.
